I was born on May the First, in 1851. The first day of the Great Exhibition, held in Hyde Park in London. It was held in Paxton's Crystal Palace. Unfortunately, due to my prior engagement of being born (nor being fully mentally developed at time), I was unable to attend and appreciate the event. My mother was of Hungarian birth and to my knowledge, still is. My father however, is a Son of Albion and dare I say it, rather proud of this.
I was privately tutored by a dark skinned man from the Iberian Peninsula whose name eludes me at the moment. He did not enjoy the English, nor did he enjoy having to be driven out to teach me (as I lived in Abbots Leigh in Somerset, which had only dirt roads at the time).
Later, I attended the University of Cambridge which I left in order to persue 'le éxperiance mondaine'.
That is the intention of this, to chronicle my journies across the globe. Be it by locomotive, dirigible, balloon, boat, horseback or even by foot.
I am Isaac Covington and this is my story.
